A few things you might not know about Elizabeth Gaskell and Charlotte Brontë
Based on 10 years of meticulous research, this talk takes a deep dive into the Gaskell/Bronte story unearthing some surprising details about literature’s most famous female friendship.
Susan Dunne is the author of Charlotte Bronte and Elizabeth Gaskell: their lives, friendship and writing (Pen and Sword 2026).
Everyone is most welcome to come along, members and non-members alike. Doors open at 1pm and the talk will begin at 1.30pm. This meeting takes place in the Chapel itself, where food and drinks are not allowed, but tea and coffee will be available in adjacent corridor.
Tickets are £5 for members, £6 for non-members. Simply pay on the door or book online here (no booking fee).
