Join us for a look at how Austen, Charlotte Brontë and Elizabeth Gaskell approach romantic love. Mr Rochester, Mr Darcy and Mr Thornton will all be mentioned!
Elizabeth Williams is a retired English lecturer, Gaskell Society member and former Chair of The Gaskell Society. She is an excellent speaker and we’re delighted to welcome her back for this talk, which is somewhat likely to set hearts a-flutter.
Doors open at 1pm – the chapel will be selling tea and coffee and you are most welcome to bring a packed lunch!
The talk begins at 1.30pm.
This hybrid meeting will take place live in person and live over Zoom. A recording of the talk will be available for ticketholders for a limited time after the event.
